You might have seen our magazine. You can get it on our website. You’ll see a nice picture of me about a third of the way into my career with my son, Colin, who you’ll also have seen on the website. We love what we do. I love what we do.
Can I subdivide my lot?
It’s a fairly narrow view of subdivision. And that’s what you typically remember as a broadacre subdivision in a new estate. That’s the typical process. Councils are moving more away from that.If you do get a broadacre lot, it’ll generally have restrictions that say:
- This is your building envelope.
- You can’t build closer to the boundary than this.
- Heights are restricted and whatever.
In some cases, you might finish up with a strata subdivision rather than a Torrens. So there is a range of different ways that you can subdivide. Don’t think it’s the end of the day if the rules say you need a 7000 square metres to subdivide into two lots. Quite often we can find a way around that.
Take The Next Step
And so if you’d like to explore can I subdivide my land, then please go onto our website or give us a call to book a consultation, and we’ll take it a step at a time. If there’s something that can be done that’s suitable for you and us, then we’ll follow it through. We can do everything that’s necessary to put together an application. If it turns out to be a dual occupancy, we can do the plans. We can organise the surveying, tree report, and whatever else is necessary. So all the best with it.Article Last Updated: 28 June 2024
