‘Hardware Store’ definition: The following definition is taken from the Standard Instrument – Principal Local Environmental Plan. Hardware and building supplies means a building or place the principal purpose of which is the sale or hire of goods or materials, such as household fixtures, timber, tools, paint, wallpaper, plumbing supplies and the like, that are used in the construction and maintenance of buildings and adjacent outdoor areas.
