Rewind to 1967. With Elvis sideburns, bell-bottom trousers and the signature 60’s moustache, Max Fragar confidently sailed into a town planning career of which he would make a massive success and be admirably recognised for decades later. After 25 years in senior local government, Max Fragar understood how valuable a council approval is for a family, individual or business.
For most Australian’s the time, stress and hassle of achieving council approval was a very real challenge.
In 1996 our firm (originally Max Fragar & Associates) was born with the simple mission to simplify, even streamline, the council approval process for Australians. As a Registered Planner Plus (EIA), and one of only a handful of Life Fellows of the Planning Institute of Australia in the country, Max Fragar could be said to be a Jedi Knight of Town Planning.
Max’s son Colin Fragar partnered with his Dad in 2011 to rebrand to ‘Fragar Planning & Development: The Council Approval Experts’ and continued on the vision and commitment to make the council approval process accessible to more people. We have recently rebranded from Council Approval Experts to Council Approval Group to better encapsulate the full suite of council approval services we offer.
People say there is no other firm in Australia that has the experience in dealing with local government approvals than we do.
Today, after 25 years in business, our team of over 20 town planners, architects, and local government specialists have helped over 30,491 people navigate council approval.
