What is a Complying Development Certificate Application?
When you have a project that qualifies as complying development, it must be certified by Council or an approved certifier. The certification process much simpler than the development application process. In general, it also takes less time, especially when using a certifier rather than Council. The application for a Complying Development Certificate provides information to the certifier demonstrating compliance with the provisions for complying development.
Why do I need a Complying Development Certificate?
Complying Development Certificates are essential before engaging in a project that is considered complying development. It is an approval and proof that your development proposal complied with the necessary provisions should anyone question your development as it is under construction or after completion.
Why do I need your help?
We are a group of Certified Practicing Planners, many of us are ex-Council staff with inside knowledge of the development application and assessment process. Before proceeding with a Complying Development Certificate application, you would have engaged us for a preliminary planning assessment. During that assessment we determine what approvals you need or if you need any approval at all. Our staff prepares the application, making certain that the application is complete and that all provisions have been met. Similar to a Council Development Application, there is more to a Complying Development Certificate application than filling out a form. We make the application process easier for you.
How long does it take to prepare?
Complying Development Applications is generally a much easier and quicker process than a Council Development Application, but the time will still vary based on the application and certifier hired.
To get that success rate it has only come after helping over 12,000 people. We’ve worked hard to smooth out all the kinks before they appear by carrying out this Preliminary Planning Assessment (PPA) on your property. It works a treat, especially for what it can do for you, the journey of the project and its future.
We could make up a fantasied timeframe to wow you, but to be straight up the length of getting an approval is dependent on the project development type, the local council, who examines your application within council, location of the property within the local council and on the property itself, and the list goes on. The approval process will no doubt take longer than you expect because we are dealing with administrative red tape.
But what our team has done has studied the 12,000+ applications we have been involved in and analysed the 300+ flight years of team council approval experience to create a formidable system.
So to answer the question, how long does it take for us to get council approval? The fastest in our industry.
We have over 20 team members lead by our founder Max Fragar with his 50 consecutive years of town planning and council approval knowledge.
