What is a Complying Development Certificate Application?

When you have a project that qualifies as complying development, it must be certified by Council or an approved certifier. The certification process much simpler than the development application process. In general, it also takes less time, especially when using a certifier rather than Council.The application for a Complying Development Certificate provides information to the certifier demonstrating compliance with the provisions for complying development.

Why do I need a Complying Development Certificate?

Complying Development Certificates are essential before engaging in a project that is considered complying development. It is an approval and proof that your development proposal complied with the necessary provisions should anyone question your development as it is under construction or after completion.

Complying Development Applications is generally a much easier and quicker process than a Council Development Application, but the time will still vary based on the application and certifier hired.
