What is a Zoning? Definition or Meaning

‘Zoning’ definition: The designation of land uses for specific areas, usually depicted on a map of a Local Government Area. The area is typically divided into prevailing land uses, such as residential, commercial, retail, conservation, and environmental. However, while one residential area may appear to be similar to another, in terms of housing types and density, it may have a different zoning relating to a specific issue such as conservation or bushfire.
