Hey, I’m Colin Fragar from Council Approval Group. I’m actually in the studio today. This is kind of behind the scenes and what they don’t tell you is before you do these videos you actually put on a bit of makeup. But rest assured I take it off at the end of the recording.

So here we are in the studio today we’re talking about in particular, the blind spots that people make in dealing with Council. And if you haven’t already, make sure you grab your council approval guide. We call it Your Ultimate Guide To Council Approval. Make sure you grab it. If you open up the front cover, and you have a look in here, we’ve now talked about the first three points. We’re now talking about number four.

Mistake #4: Ignoring What You Can Do Without Council Approval

So one of the common mistakes that we see people make in dealing with the council is that they ignore what they can do without achieving council approval. But we really want to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients.
So people often think that they need to get development approval but they haven’t looked at all the options.
And so what we do in a Preliminary Planning Assessment is we go through it we start. What are the things that are exempt? What doesn’t need approval? What are those things which may be complying, which we can streamline the process for you? And then we look at those things which do need a more complicated development application for you.
