Why Design Your Own Granny Flat?

So many times I’ve talked to people about granny flats and they say they’ve got this one off the shelf or whatever. And so many times that comes unstuck. Designing your own granny flat gives you much more flexibility and you’ll finish up with a much better result. Off the shelf, in my opinion, doesn’t finish up with the best result. It might finish up with a quick result, but in the end, you’re going to live with this granny flat. Granny or your teenage daughter is going to live in it for a long time. What you want is the most important thing, which is the best result, the best design, best access to solar access, private open space, and all those things. Speed is one thing, but the best result is another. So work with a designer. We have our own design team at Council Approval Group. With every granny flat we’ve built we’ve had our own design, not off the shelf.

The capital gain, the lifestyle advantage of your own design, best design for a site, best solar access, best privacy, best appearance, all goes better.
