In the call, our council approval consultant will ask you a variety of questions to assess whether we can help you move forward on your project, or whether we can refer you elsewhere.
Your complimentary consultation will not be a sales pitch to use our services. It will simply be an initial conversation to see if you and your project are a good fit for what we do. If we think you are a good fit, then we will suggest that you proceed with a Preliminary Planning Assessment.
1.0 PRELIMINARY PLANNING ASSESSMENT (PPA) & PROJECT STRATEGY SESSION (PSS)
A Preliminary Planning Assessment and it’s Project Strategy Session, originally conceived by Council Approval Group, is a property analysis report and planning discussion.
Not only is the purpose of this step to help you to make a well-informed decision about the potential development options of your property, it predicts the sleekest course for an approval and anticipates the smoothest way around and through any anticipated speed humps.
2.0 DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION (By our Town Planners)
A comprehensive and properly prepared development application by our team of experience Town Planners and property professionals will give your proposal the best possible chance of success.
3.0 PLAN PREPARATION (By our Architects)
Plans are an integral part of the application and council approval process. Your choice of designer will significantly impact your proposal and how it might travel through council.
Council Approval Group has an in-house, award winning professional architecture and drafting team that work alongside our town planners to create tailored designs of the highest quality, but more importantly design plans that are council approvable from the start.
Did you know that council liberally reject development applications because of missing documentation? Rude, we know!

During the application process, more often than not, council will ask for a ‘Request for Further Information’ (RFI). Our years of planning experience help us to act quickly with the right and necessary responses to council.

Council often have guidelines and regulations around approvals. This quality check is called a ‘Notice of Determination’ and sets a benchmark for the quality of development and construction associated with your approval.
Our team will organise a phone call discussion with you where we unpack the conditions of consent and the next steps logically for you. If a construction certificate or subdivision certificate is part of getting that end result we also make ourselves available to help you with that.
