Hi guys, Colin Fragar here from Council Approval Group.

Today, I’m answering the fourth big reason why now is the best time to get council approval.

This, out of any time that I’ve been aware of while I’ve been involved in Council approvals and in our 25 years of history… This is the best time to get council approval for five different reasons. And I want to go through the fourth reason.

The first reason was, you can be ahead of the crowd in terms of the council approval influx that will occur at the end of the corona. The second reason is the faster approval process. The state government is putting pressure on council staff to get the approvals done, and that will not last forever.

The third reason is that it is a faster preparation process for us because we have geared up rather than geared down in terms of our staff resources. We now have 10+ council staff (that used to work for the Council) that work for us, and who can help you with your projects.

So now actually is a quicker preparation process then what we have had ever had probably for the last two or three years because we’ve just hired a whole bunch of new staff. So, really excited to be able to offer their resources and services to you.

So, here’s the fourth reason why I think that this is the best time to get council approval.

Now when I say, “this time,” I’m recording this at the tail end of the corona lockdown, that there is still going to be, of course, some restrictions. It is going to take a while for the economy to recover.

But during this economic recovery period, I believe this is the best time to get council approval because you actually get a lower cost of construction.

I have a lot of contacts in the building industry, and a lot in the building industry is hurting. Builders have found that jobs have canceled.

So I believe if you can get your council approval in place and capitalize on this downturn, you actually get a lower cost of construction at the end of the day. Whether it’s renovation works or alts and ads, whether it’s a whole new dwelling or two or three. Whatever your project is, if it involves construction, you’re likely to get a lower cost because there’ll be more people that want the work.

You’ve all heard if a builder doesn’t want to work. What do they do? They double the price! They add an extra margin.

They’re not going to be doing that right now. But that time is not going to last for very long. Because as soon as the influx occurs, as soon as this massive wave… this pent up demand… when everybody realizes, okay, we’re back on guys, guess what?! Prices are going to double. And you’re going to be paying a premium for any sort of trade work.

So that is the fourth reason why I believe that it’s the best time to get council approval. Stay tuned for the fifth video, which is a really important one.
